About the techniques and materials used in creating this piece:
Hand Forged - An artisan technique that is used to work harden soft metal through the use of a hammer an anvil, producing highly uniquely distinctive pieces.
Gold-Filled - ( abbreviated g.f.) is wire that has a layer of gold 10K gold (or higher...I use 14K) mechanically bonded under heat and pressure to one or more surfaces of a supporting base material (usually brass) and lasts up to 30+ years under normal wear conditions vs gold-plate with a wear of up to 3 years. |
